Candle Care

Why Choose Soy Wax?

Soy wax is better for candles if you’re looking for a cleaner, longer-lasting, more eco-conscious option with a pleasant and natural scent throw.

Cleaner Burning

  • Less Soot: Soy wax burns more cleanly than paraffin, producing minimal soot. This helps maintain indoor air quality and reduces black marks on walls or furniture.

  • Non-toxic: It’s made from soybeans, a natural and renewable resource, whereas paraffin is a byproduct of petroleum refining and may release harmful chemicals when burned.

 Longer Burn Time

  • Slower Burn Rate: Soy wax typically burns at a cooler temperature, which means the candle lasts longer compared to a similar-sized paraffin candle.

 Better Scent Throw

  • Excellent Fragrance Dispersion: Soy wax holds fragrance oils well and releases them gradually, giving a consistent scent experience throughout the candle’s life.

  • Less Overpowering: The scent throw is more natural and less synthetic-smelling than in some paraffin candles.

Renewable & Sustainable

  • Eco-Friendly: Soy wax is made from soybeans, a renewable crop that can be grown repeatedly. This contrasts with paraffin, which relies on fossil fuels.

  • Biodegradable: Soy wax is biodegradable and easier to clean up if spilled.

Lead-Free Cotton Wicks—Always!

A lead-free cotton wick is better because it’s non-toxic, clean-burning, safer, and eco-friendly—all of which make for a healthier candle experience in your home.

Cleaner Burning

  • Less Soot: Cotton wicks burn cleaner and produce less black soot compared to wicks with metal cores, helping to keep your walls and indoor air clean.

  • More Natural: A cotton wick, especially one that's unbleached and untreated, is a more natural option and aligns with eco-conscious values.

 Better Burning Performance

  • Consistent Flame: Cotton wicks create a steady, even flame, improving the overall burn and performance of the candle.

Candle Care Instructions

For the best experience, use a wick trimmer and a snuffer instead of blowing the candle out to avoid wax splatter and smoke.

Trim the Wick

  • Always trim the wick to 1/4 inch (6mm) before each burn.

  • This helps prevent smoke, soot, and large, flickering flames.

Let the Wax Pool

  • Burn your candle long enough on the first use to let the wax melt edge to edge.

  • This prevents tunneling and helps the candle burn evenly all the way down.

Burn Time Matters

  • Don’t burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Allow the candle to cool and re-solidify before relighting to avoid wick issues and overheating.

Burn on a Stable Surface

  • Always place your candle on a heat-resistant, level surface away from drafts, curtains, pets, and children.

 Keep It Clean

  • Keep the wax pool free of debris like matches, wick trimmings, or dust, which can cause flare-ups or uneven burning.

Stop When There’s ½ Inch Left

  • Discontinue use when about ½ inch (1.2 cm) of wax remains. This helps prevent overheating the container or surface beneath it.

Store Properly

  • Keep your candle out of direct sunlight and away from heat to prevent discoloration or scent loss.

General Safety:

  • Never leave candles unattended.
  • Keep candles away from drafts, children, and pets.
  • Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time.
  • Place burning candles at least 3 inches apart from each other.
